Dashkasan & Gadabay
The Siemens Bridges in the Gadabay district are remarkable historical structures built in the late 19th century by the German Siemens brothers. These arched bridges were an integral part of a 28-kilometer narrow-gauge railway system designed to transport copper ore across the challenging mountainous terrain of the Lesser Caucasus to a smelting plant in Galakend. Recognizable for their elegant and robust engineering, several of these bridges, including the famous "Bloody Bridge" (Qanlı Körpü), still stand today as protected monuments and popular attractions for visitors exploring the legacy of the Siemens operations in Azerbaijan.
