Quzğunqaya is part of the mountain whose silhouette Gabala locals know as the Sleeping Beauty — a ridge that dominates the skyline and calls to every hiker who looks up from the valley. The trail climbs from ancient hawthorn forests through lush alpine meadows where nomadic shepherds still graze their flocks in summer, a scene unchanged for centuries. As you gain height, the Caucasus opens up around you: ridge upon ridge, forested valleys, and the river winding far below. At the summit (2,481 m), the view sweeps across to Qəmərvan village and the deep river gorges — one of the most dramatic panoramas in the Greater Caucasus.
