Baku, Sheki & Gobustan: 4-Day Cultural Trip

Pick-up from Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), transfer to your hotel, and welcome breakfast / morning refreshments.

Lunch featuring authentic Azerbaijani cuisine. Guided exploration of Baku: Highland Park, Seaside Boulevard, and Nizami Street (Torqovaya). Discover classical, 20th-century, and modern landmarks. Visit the Maiden Tower and Palace of the Shirvanshahs, followed by a walk through the Old Town (Icherisheher).

Dinner at a local restaurant with traditional Azerbaijani dishes and live music. Visit Yarat Contemporary Art Center and enjoy an evening walk along Baku's illuminated seafront.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Shamakhi Juma Mosque (the oldest mosque in Azerbaijan) and the Seven Domes Mausoleum.

Enjoy a traditional local lunch in Shamakhi. Drive to Gabala and walk around Nohur Lake. Visit Tufandag Mountain Resort with cable car access to mountain peaks. Optional excursion and wine tasting at Savalan Winery.

Breakfast at the hotel. Sheki city exploration. Visit the Summer Palace of Sheki Khans, known for its intricate wall paintings and shebeke stained-glass windows. Visit the Center of Applied Arts in a pre-Soviet building to learn about silk embroidery, national costumes, and local crafts.

Lunch break to sample authentic Sheki Piti (clay-pot lamb stew) and Sheki Pakhlava. Optional masterclass at a Shebeke workshop. Drive to Kish village to visit the ancient Caucasian Albanian Church.

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Gobustan — a UNESCO World Heritage open-air museum featuring petroglyphs over 20,000 years old.

Lunch featuring Caspian seafood or local cuisine. Visit the active Mud Volcanoes — one of the region's unique natural phenomena. Drive to the world's first industrially drilled oil well. Optional visit to Bibi-Heybat Shrine on the return journey.
